Wiesbaden Countryside Run

Sunday evening, I knocked out a 10-miler in the countryside here in Wiesbaden. I originally was going to go for 13.1 but my calf tightened up a lot around mile 2. So, I called it quits a bit early. Happy about this one though considering I still ran under 8 mins/mile while messing around with my camera and slowing up a few different times to figure out where the hell I was.

I love getting lost though. I think it's the best way to learn roads/directions in areas you're unfamiliar with. I've often discovered some really cool, tucked-away dive bars and restaurants in bigger cities which I otherwise wouldn't have found. And unless I'm doing a super long run in an area where I might not see other humans for a long time, I never take my phone with me. I even felt burdened a little by just carrying the Session cam with me. I guess I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to running. If temps are nice, I'm wearing just shorts, my Garmin 210, maybe sunglasses and an iPod Shuffle.
